Talk about denial..check out the Euro-Mediterranean Summit!

Today at the so-called `Euro-Mediterranean Summit' The European Union, Israel and its Arab neighbors supposedly endorsed an anti-terrorism code of conduct that denounced `terrorism in all it's forms'. Jerusalem Post | Breaking News from Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish World Only one slight problem. Except for Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, none of the Arab leaders showed up, or even had their countries participate in any major degree! The article doesn't mention that little tidbit until the last paragraph.

Why Israel and the EU continue to delude themselves or participate in farces like this is anybody's guess. Abbas and the Turks I can understand. Abbas needs the EU to keep funding the Palestinian Jihad and the Turks want into the EU.

Of course, the EU taxpayers continue to foot the bill for jihad, and the article mentions grants and `soft' loans to the tune of $23.5 billion that the EU has doled out since 1995, with next to no effect on the region's poverty or in promoting democracy. Though I'm sure a good bit of it ended up in numbered accounts in Switzerland or the Caymans.
