Bill To Extend Habeus Corpus to Terrorists Defeated in Senate

Even more bad news for the appeasement wing of American politics...today, the US Senate shut down a bill being pushed by Patrick Leahy(d-VT) and Arlen Specter ( r-PA), the respective Committee head and ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary committee.

A motion to close debate failed because it didn't get the required 60 votes - another reminder to be careful how you vote in November.

Virtually all the Senate Democrats voted for the measure, which would have allowed enemy combatants seized on the battle field the right to clog the court system with repetitive challenges to their confinement.

The last time I checked, these people weren't US citizens, and it amazes me that some of the people in charge of leading our country would want to present people who are in effect POW's in wartime the same rights given to citizens of the nation they are attempting to defeat and destroy.

A simply stunning display of political correctness and dhimmitude.
