Cwazy Unkie Jimmy On The Loose again.....

Our very own whacko ex-President Jimmy Carter is back doing the news shows again, pimping a new book of his entitled `Beyond The White House'.

Apparently he's simply unable to keep from soiling himself in public, and still seeks to inflate his own putrid legacy by maligning far better men.

He sat down today with that rancid excuse for a newscaster, Wolf Blitzer on CNN's `Situation Room'. After the usual obligatory niceties, Wolfie asked Jimmy Carter what he thought of the present lineup of Republican presidential candidates:

“Well, they all seem to be outdoing each other in who wanted to go to war first with Iran, who wants to keep Guantanamo open longer and expand its capacity, things of that kind,” Carter replied. "They're competing with each other to appeal to the ultra-right wing, warmongering element in our country, which I think is a minority of the total population."

I guess Unkie Jimmmy forgot about Senator Obama, who wants to invade Pakistan with a couple of brigades!

Blitzer then asked Carter which of the GOP candidates scared him the most. But the former president knows his audience, at least. “If I condemn one of them, it might escalate him to the top position in the Republican ranks,” Carter said.

Carter has that right at least. A condemnation from one of America's most inept presidents is a sure-fire endorsement for the average American.

However, Rudy Giuliani did sort of get an endorsement from Unkie Jimmy:

"He is foolish. I hope that he doesn't become president and tries to impose on the American people a conviction that we need to go to war with Iran when we are still at war with Iraq."

I guess Unkie Jimmy plumb forgot that the jihadis we're kiling in Iraq belong to al Qaeda and Iran's Shiite militias in Iraq and that we put the current government of Iraq in power through democratic(if premature) elections...

On the same show, Carter provided some more fuel for his friends at al-Jazeera (AKA `JihadTV) and al-Manor by alleging that America routinely tortures jihadis....and that President Bush is a war criminal:

BLITZER: President Bush said as recently as this week the United States does not torture detainees.

CARTER: That's not an accurate statement. If you use the international norms of torture as has always been honored, certainly in the last 60 years, since the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was promulgated.

But you can make your own definition of human rights and say, we don't violate them. And we can -- you can make your own definition of torture and say we don't violate it.

BLITZER: But by your definition, you believe the United States, under this administration, has used torture.

CARTER: I don't think it, I know it, certainly.

BLITZER: So is the president lying?

CARTER: The president is self-defining what we have done and authorized in the torture of prisoners, yes.

BLITZER: But that raises a really important question. Those who are engaged in torture, who commit torture, potentially that could be a violation of international or other laws.

CARTER: Yes, I think so.

Anyone who commits torture except Yasir Arafat, right Unkie Jimmy?

Even funnier was Carter's selective memory and lack of focus on Iran:

" I think two things to be very brief, we don't have much time. One is to start talking to Iran, communicate with Iran.

After the Shah was overthrown and the Ayatollah Khomeini took over, we continued our diplomatic relations with Iran…Secondly, use strong diplomatic means to make sure they don't go ahead with a nuclear program. And I think that -- and to quit threatening to attack them, because that just increases their fervor in developing all kinds of protective devices..."

Un-freaking-believable.

Cwazy Unkie Jimmy forgets that it was his administration's cluelessness and pressure on the Shah that enabled the Ayatollah Khomeni to return to Iran from France with his gang and spark the Islamic Revolution...and his fecklessness and lack of focus after our embassy was invaded and our diplomats taken hostage that was largely responsible for the Iran mess in the first place. He likewise forgets that our `diplomatic relations' with Iran ended after the hostage taking and were limited to third party messages through Switzerland, Canada and Algeria. The eventual ransom he ended up paying them was actually released to Iran through Algeria, and that only happened because the Ayatollah was afraid that with Reagan coming into office there would be hell to pay if our hostages were still in Iran once Reagan took over.

Even more comical is Carter's notion that all we have to do is `talk to Iran' to magically get them to end their support for Islamist terrorism and their quest for nuclear weapons and genocide.

The attempts to `talk to Iran' have been going on for over thirty years now, with 5 different presidents, and you would think that someone who actually spent a year and a half vainly trying to do so would know how silly and unproductive that notion is.

To those who remember the Carter presidency - the massive foreign policy failures, the triumph of communism and Islamic fascism, the gas lines, the double digit interest rates, the massive inflation and ineffectual leadership - there's nothing more puerile or disgraceful than seeing a failed, senile hack like Unkie Jimmy lecturing others on how to lead America.

I must confess, I can't stay angry at him long. Whether he's writing a book of fiction for his Saudi masters on Israel's supposed `apartheid', shilling for Hamas or trashing far more able men, I'll never lack for something to write about as long as Cwazy Unkie Jimmy is loose from the attic.
